This app gives a high level view of Boston's traffic. Maps show traffic flows in downtown Boston, I-95 and I-495 loops. All maps can be zoomed and moved using normal iPhone techniques. Four camera views are given for these routes: I-90, I-93, I-95 and Rte 3. The app also shows current conditions at selected points in the area as provided by massDOT. The app is designed to be quick and easy to help you see which freeways are open and which have problems. By design the app includes just a few of the cameras available from the Department of Transportation - the massDOT website at http://www1.eot.state.ma.us/boswebcamlivetraffic.aspx has many camera views. This purpose of this free app is a fast overview of Boston's traffic, not a detailed view of each exit. Load times Each view requires connection to a server supplying the information. The load times are primarily a function of the strength of your connection to the web. Number of cameras This application shows views of four cameras on each freeway. The app's intent is an overview of traffic in the area, not a view of each of the many cameras that are available at the massDOT link given above.
